Sport75 Thank you for your work
nelski I think people are just starting new threads from one that is in The Pit, so it is being formed in The Pit. I agree some valid and interesting curling threads have been initiated in The Pit lately. My thinking is it has been accidental.
Unregistered WTF is with all this serious curling talk in the pit. Gawwd, it's like UYK's greatest dream has come true. For shame people.

Well done...It must have been a slow day at the Burnaby Prison for "Preparation H-Bomb!"

Yeah, that would be put into the (b) category. Good suggestion.

Of course, the categories I posted above are not the definitive list...as I'm sure there will be additions as time progresses. Remember: we reserve the right to remove *any* posts we deem unacceptible..., but we are really going to try to leave posters in The Pit a long rope.

I think the rope is too long for the post by H Bomb. This is to quote: "overt player bashing or other trollish activities"
Give this one the Boot!!
Dallas Yeah, that would be put into the (b) category. Good suggestion.

Statman A terrific philosophy, although you might consider adding a part e) "sexist" or add it to b).

After a few recent posts as of late, I realize its time to outline the "acceptible discussion" rules for The Pit.

We are beginning to moderate our regular curling-themed discussion forums a little more this year, and we will try to keep the majority of the discussion relevant, and clear from overt player bashing or other trollish activities, while keeping the lively discussions that often crop up.

As I stated in another post:

Gerry and I both believe in and respect people's freedom of speech, and we are pretty lenient in what is allowed to be posted on the CurlingZone website...hey...we love the society we live in!

But at the same time, our interest here is to further the curling community, and bring together like-minded people who want to discuss similar topics. So, most of our forums are moderated, as we owe it to people to have constructive forums dedicated to our sport. In 2005, we will begin to actively moderate the main curling related forums a bit more.

Feel free to use The Pit for whatever venom you feel you may need to get out of your system. The CurlingZone moderators will leave it alone...other than in extreme cases. Speak Freely...but try to stay human.

Please Note:

Basically...we aren't planning on removing any threads/posts from The Pit unless they are in the following categories:

(a) overt spam. If you want to advertise on CurlingZone, contact us...we have excellent advertising rates on our site!

(b) racist or hate posts. Pretty self-explanatory.

(c) kiddie porn or other illegal activites. Pretty self-explanatory.

(d) links to virii or other malicious code.

Hope this clears some things up here....

Now, have fun...and try to stay civil...LOL...I know it can be tough at times.
