2nd CTRS Spot
Just got wind that Team Ramsay is putting in a request for the 2nd CTRS spot as they are the next on the list for it but not Top 30. They are hoping Curlmanitoba will amend the Top 30 requirement.
If they don't get it, they plan to only curl in U.S. and will begin filing residency documents in an attempt to represent America at 2018 Olympics... real and Special.

F***in A. Team Ramsay is studying the loopholes and I am totally on their page. MB Curling has always been on the leading edge of the wave WTG . Yessss.

Next eligible team
Ramsay is the next eligible team on ctrs. Lyburn lost two players and fowler and stoughton no more. I think if the mca put the rule in to get stoughton, mcewen and fowler a free pass it should be open to next eligible team. The top 30 rule is b.s because the points that are available in manitoba aren't a lot compared to Ontario events. If they are allowing 2 ctrs spots it should go to top 2 eligible teams regardless of where they stand. I sure hope they get this ruling right.

Very interesting. It would seem logical and simple that the next team on The CTRS list grabs the berth. Solves an issue in granting it to Ramsey. Good for them making an effort to get it otherwise The MCA will probably find a way to give to to Stoughton or something.

Don't the CTRS points earned individually in the previous year follow the players to the new rink?? If so, it may be possible the Stoughton/Fowler team will likely grab one of those spots.

No, thats for Order of Merit only. CTRS points reset at the beginning of each year.

The CTRS spots are just like the defending champion spot where 3 out of the 4 players have to stick together in order to claim them. You shouldn't be able to throw together players from different teams and think you can claim a CTRS spot. For example, in the case of Stoughton's rink, just because all of their players individual points added up are enough to get them a CTRS spot doesn't mean anything. That's a completely new team that will have to prove they still belong in the top 3 and not just have it handed to them.
Just give the 2nd CTRS spot to Ramsay already, the top 30 requirement is stupid! It should be interesting to watch the big boys play again on club ice just to earn a spot to provincials!

Who was the one who thought the "30" spot position was the cut off? Why would there be a cut off? If you have two spots for CTRS then it is two spots. Manitoba is a joke because of the Ontario points anyway so you have to give it to the teams that are on the list!!!

I agree that Ramsay deserves the spot based on merit. Unfortunately he is no more eligible for the spot than Stoughton since he doesn't meet the requirements either. I also agree that the top 30 requirement(I haven't actually read this rule, just going on what others have stated) is silly, but if it was clearly written prior to the start of the season you can't expect it to change now. We can't call Curlmanitoba down for fabricating spots for the elite in one breath then expect them to change clearly written rules for a non "elite" team in the next.
All this being said I would do the same thing they are doing. Hope they get the spot.

A close buddy of a close buddy who knows The Experiment advised me they lost their proposal. The 2nd CTRS goes to the highest ranking team as of December 2014, or in other words Stoughton.
Apparently The experiment is pretty bummed. They were hoping to spend more time at the Dog track, Roller Derby or Cock fights in the Fall, but looks like they got to play some curling. "The Walk Off" is back on so they might actually be motivated to play better in February, but strip clubs, Lounges and beer vendors everywhere hope otherwise.
