Shane Gordon McCready
McCREADY, Shane Gordon - passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday October 26, 2012. Shane was 37 years old. Beloved fiancée and best friend to Kelly King. Loving father to his beautiful Labs, Chief and Tommy. Special son to Richard McCready and Shirley Tessier. Shane will be sadly missed by his sister Meghan (Scott) Clark and their children Brandon and Mallory Clark. Loving aunts and uncles Jim (Nicole) Tessier, the late Margaret (Michael) Murphy, Roger (Joan) Tessier, Mary (and the late Louis) Glenn, Bernice (and the late Fern) Tessier, Rose (Donald) Smith, Martha (Carl) Jory, Marlyn (John) Honsberger, Robert (Susan) McCready, Donny (Jane) McCready, Jack (Diane) McCready, Donna (Glen) Stewart. He will be fondly remembered by many close cousins. Shane is predeceased by his grandparents Gordon and Jean McCready, Paul Emile, Julienne Tessier and his uncle William McCready. Shane had a special relationship with his future father-in-law Terry King. A firefighter for more than 16 years, first as a volunteer firefighter in Niagara-on the-Lake following which he achieved a full time professional position with the City of Brampton. In 2012 he achieved the honour of Acting Captain. Shane was active within his community taking part in competitive curling leagues and representing the Province of Ontario in the National Firefighter Curling Championship on more than one occasion. He was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, craftsman and dog lover. Always a gentleman, Shane maintained lifelong relationships with everyone his life touched. He will be dearly missed by Jay, Shawn, Jeff, Chris, Brian, Michelle, Marty and all who knew him. Shane's family will receive visitors at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL and RECEPTION CENTRE (Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy 20 Fonthill) 905-892-1699 on Sunday October 28 from 7-9 p.m. The visitation will continue on Monday October 29 from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. A Funeral Service to honour his life will take place on Tuesday October 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Bramalea Baptist Church located at 9050 Dixie Rd Brampton, Ontario. In keeping with Shane's wishes, cremation will follow. A Reception and time of fellowship will be held at Brampton Soccer Centre - 1495 Sandalwood Pkwy East, Brampton, following the service. As an expression of sympathy Shane's family would like to direct donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Shane understood the importance of blood donations; continued support of the Canadian Blood Services will forever be appreciated by his family.
