Canadian juniors
I see that the juniors have a similar draw as the brier and Scottie’s. 18 teams each but 4-5 provinces in each have 2 teams. When did they change this? I like it as it gives more of the young teams the taste of national competition. Just curious though, who and how did they decide which provinces get the 2 teams?
Also any streaming anywhere?

This would have been the second year with the changes but COVID cancelled last year's competition.
Three (maybe four) MA's that perform the best over a 3 year average get to send a second team. It may be the top three MA's and then the host MA also gets a second team but I can't recall specifically.
On the men's side, Nunavut and Yukon are not participating so additional MA's get a second team. Not sure if Nunavut is participating on the ladies side, if not, there would be an additional team #2.
U20's have gone to 18 teams per gender. U18's have increased to 24 teams (I believe) per gender. Underlying theme is to give more teams the experience of attending a national championship and curl on arena ice.

One game per draw is being streamed on the Curling Canada You Tube page

I was browsing through the teams and saw quite a few non-white players, which is very encouraging for future of the sport in such an increasingly diverse country.

Would any team, in any competition, keep playing when down 11 with 2 ends to go?????

I would ask the same question. Sometimes they make you play 8 ends. But if it’s not televised I can’t see why. Some might say it’s a “learning experience “. But, after a week of playing it’s time to shake and go home.

Yes. And I’m not blaming the team, as they are juniors. But, the coach should have laid in front of the hacks and told them to concede.

In the playoffs all teams had to play nine ends minimum, round robin was eight minimum…

They really are treating this event well aren't they. It used to be it say they should broadcast the whole event but I guess broadcasting the semi and finslnwas better than nothing at all like this year. Pathetic. Well done ten

What I found utterly baffling was that the men's and women's final were at the same time. Why? It was a Friday and they easily could've had them at different times. really disrespectful and especially annoying given the women's final was close but the broadcast men's finale was not.

Agreed. I was hoping they'd have different times.

Talk about eating your young. Why not broadcast both game? And forcing a team to play when they have no hope of winning…cruel. I hope the coach takes it up with Curling Canada

If this is the case, curling Canada needs a good firm kick in the nuts!!!!!!
