Sad state of affairs in OCA when results of zone play have to be posted on a rock talk forum. The OCA web site is disgraceful.

Not sure why the OCA can't post a little quicker...the technology is there now. Maybe they need to give all the zone reps some laptops equipped with wireless so they can post directly to the website from whatever club they are at?

Unfortunately that won't work, since a lot of zone reps never make it to the event, instead relying on club people to run the event. And if they do show up it is often just for the first draw and then are never seen again. Apologies to those reps who
are doing their job.

The OCA staff and board of directors needs a complete shake-up first before anything will happen. Look at the names on the board of directors- same old same old. They leave the board for
one year and are then reappointed. Ever try to get the CEO to return a phone call?? Zone results are never updated even after the event is over . You need to wait until the regional draw is posted or (more likel) will turn to CZ.
Change in Ontario - don't count on it for a long time. (I really hope that I am wrong!)
OCA is never going to listen, or change, or do anything to support clubs (except pay OCA salaries) until the clubs actually rein them in.
First step…make OCA membership optional on membership forms and charge the member directly.
When the cash cow stops giving milk, then OCA will have to listen!

I agree. At least baby steps are being taken and maybe soon they will have also post the scores as well.
Seems like most of the "favourites" won their games with only a couple of what would be considered upsets.

Middaugh out and now relegated to the challenge round. Maybe a case of peaking too soon?
Also Homan down to B and fighting to avoid having to go to the Challenge. Hanna- one more win and she returns to the provincials.

Middaugh being out is a surprise! Kinda hoping Homan goes out too!

How many spots in challenge round?
2 Spots in the challenge round
I've seen Sensational Sherry at tons of scotts, don't need to see her again.
Sherry is good to have around because she can defeat Homan, and Hanna can defeat Middaugh
Hanna on the other hand deserves another chance at vindication! Too bad Homan has a far deeper/stronger lineup than Jenn!
Hanna beat Homan in the A final of Zones, she can beat Homan again at Provincials. Homan's rink is not stronger than Hanna by any means. They are fairly equal.

Actually the North qualifier has already taken place. Krista was the first to qualify out of the north. Page 2 of this thread lists the winners.

Cathy Auld
Interesting article in the Kingston Whig Standard about Cathy Auld. http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3429077
Since there were no scores posted by the OCA, the article finally gives us a couple of scores and points out Auld defeated Hanna 7-2 in the A-Final and Homan defeated Hanna 10-5 in the B-Final. It's too bad there is no mention of score for Auld vs Homan in the A-Semi.
Auld could definitely be a contender in this competition!

Sherry did not make the provincials last year. Is this becoming a familiar pattern for the team? Play well at spiels and crash in playdowns?
