From the CurlManitoba information page about the Safeway Championship (http://www.curlmanitoba.org/mens-championship), the following is for berths 8 - 18:

Number 8-18 awarded to the sport region with the highest participation ratio-11 berths

What does this mean? I notice that "sport region" is singular. Surely it doesn't mean that the Winnipeg region, for example, gets all 11 of those berths. Instead, does it mean that each region gets at least 2 berths, with some getting 3?

They spread out those births to all the regions.

How many teams have to be entered in a region to qualify for 1 or 2 of these extra berths?

Cause theyre based on the participation ratio: it would depend on total entries, not just in your region, but other entries in other regions. Having a specific number in your region will not guarantee you a set number of spots.
