Brandon 2019 Brier - second in all sporting events

taken from a local website in brandon (e-brandon)

Where the city shone the most was in a ranking of 2019 national events, where the 2019 Tim Horton’s Brier came in second only to November’s 2019 Grey Cup in Calgary.

Maybe this is an America-Centric point of view, but do the NBA finals in Toronto not count?

Or because it’s so heavily American in nature, does Basketball not count as a national championship? I mean I’m pleased, but the NBA finals has to be a bigger event, no?

That's great although the 2020 Brier was much raved about, I've been leaning towards the 2019 one as my favorite between the two. Something very special about a team wiring the field, as Team Koe did, something that rarely happens.

Just guessing, but I suspect the poll dealt with national events that are guaranteed to be in Canada every year. 😊

"Based on the input provided, each host city receives a score and ranking within its respective CSTA membership category on an annual basis. There were 122 cities that participated, with 561 national championships and 429 international events included in the compilation of the Canadian Sport Hosting Index."
Maybe Taranna forgot to sign up.
