Winter Olympics PyeongChang2018

Well - tickets for the curling events are available for purchase. Folks will be following family members and fans will likely make the trip too. Not very many Koreans are into curling and the venue at Gangneung is a bit of a trek from Seoul. Upside, is, it is a lovely beach city. Here is the ticket link:

Let's hope their northern neighbours don't decide to test any missiles out during the Olympics!

Time for the WCF to invite North Korea to put in a curling team...Manitoba Legend can be their coach.

They had a gymnastics team in Rio. And I think they play in FIFA world cup. It would take a lot to get them to the olympics for curling - but look at Kazakhstan a few years back, or Bulgaria. I think yours is a good suggestions. My Korean friends tell me that whenever there is a presidential election in S.Korea, the situation heats up - generates fear and affects outcome. Election day May 9 (same as BC bi-election). Mind you USA is involved more too. What a mess. Curling for diplomacy!

That's weird. When I checked the other day, single draws for Mixed Doubles and Mens and Womens were $46 (USD) and the playoffs were upwards of $123. Here is the link again. I guess we just keep checking. https://olympics.atpi.com/olympischespelen/

i do wonder seriously if we will ever see a north korean curling team. they have football , volleyball and hockey teams. -perhaps a curling team is on the way. i remember their leader saying that he wanted north korea to become a power in world sport(i know, not likely to ever happen) but still.

absolutely no surprise there

switzerland, united states and canada are the only countries where there's any question as to who's going to be there anymore. you pretty much know who everyone else is sending

It pleases me to see Korean Women's team Kim EunJung take the Pacific-Asia Championships. The men have made it to the finals later today (Aussie Time). Koreans will need home town athletes to cheer and maybe this team is peaking. Can they hit the podium in Pyeong Chang? THAT would be a mega victory.
UPDATE: - Korean Men also won gold. Winter Olympics you say? #bringItOn
