Timeout Rule
http://www.worldcurling.org/rules-a...tions-downloads
Section C6:
(a) Each team shall receive 38 minutes of thinking time for a 10 end game.
Section C7:
(b) Each team may call one 60 second team time-out during each game and one 60 second team time-out in each extra end.
The Brier, Scotties, and all playdown events follow Section C6 using 38 minutes of thinking time.
BUT, these events HAVE 2 TIMEOUTS instead of 1 per the WCF C7 rules.
The WCF rules are in effect for the Olympics. Isn't the Olympics the highest standard of the sport which all curlers aspire to?
Is having 1 timeout versus 2 timeouts a difference in the dynamic of the clock management of the teams? If it is not, then why the difference in the rules between WCF and Curl Canada? One would think Curl Canada would want to prep their teams for the rules in place at the Worlds/Olympics
