I'm confused as to why you think dropping 2 teams is somehow going to improve Manitoba's chances.
Whether you have 10,12 or 50 teams, the winner will be one of the teams that curls on tour.
In fact I would argue the opposite. Look at the Zacharias team. They went to provincials and got beat up the first couple times, now they are dangerous team. With new format they may not have gained that experience and without the carrot of a provincial spot, rural players may not even bother trying anymore.

I agree. Tour curlers need to meet non tour curlers to prove their melt. There is supposed to be a hierarchy in sport. But obviously tradition is not a valid argument. I think a larger pool of teams is good, though my opinion is just one. I would like to see some stats - count of curlers, count of clubs, count of entries in provinials, by province. Sure there has been decline, and growth. Sigh.

You didn't answer the question. You said the change from 12 to 10 was good because the 12 team format hadn't produced much.
Please explain how 10 is going to produce more success.
