Extra end going to 12+?

I've heard that this can happen, that if the game is scheduled for 10 ends and you go to extra, and you blank the 11th, you'll go to 12th.

The closest thing I've seen of this on video is the Koe vs McEwen semifinal in 2017 Brier. Team Koe debated whether to take a chance at making McEwen draw the 8 foot for the win, or to go for the blank and hope for a miss on the blast or the ticks in the 12th.

In this game, they did end up stealing the 11th.

I'd appreciate it if you can point me to the direction of games where they did go to the 12th and further (or 10th and further for 8 end games). Something where video footage exists is best, but I'll also take uncorroborated stories just for the fun of it.

//edit: found this https://www.sportsnet.ca/curling/ca...uble-extra-end/

8 ends grand slam, unintentional blank on 9th, went to 10th, first win for Carruthers as skip.

Years ago in the eastern McCains Superspiel, Steve Ogden won a game in the 14th end after blanking 11, 12 and 13.

Apparently "double extra end" is a fruitful phrase to search on Google, but videos are hard to come by.

I did find the video of David Murdoch intentionally blanking with runback quad vs John Epping (again!)

I'm slowly sifting through search results to see if I can find more videos, because double extra ends happen more frequently than I thought.

//edit: this was amazing: Matt Dunstone defeated Daniel Birchard in double extra end at 2013 Manitoba Juniors. Yes, that's Shannon's brother (and yes, she won that year).

Dunstone prevents brother-sister sweep with 12-end win

quote:
Dunstone, 17, realizes he ruined Daniel Birchard’s shot at representing the province with his sister in Alberta, but he had his own family story to complete.

“I felt bad in a way because it was their last year and all that,” he said, “but opportunities like that don’t come often so you gotta take advantage of them.”

It's fun digging into curling lore as a clueless new fan.
