Dr Contracts Covid-19

The President of the Sask Medical Assn to be exact.
He contracted it at a bonspiel in Edmonton that had 50 to 60 other Drs participating.
Yikes!

S**t Just Got Real

We went for a nice spring walk yesterday, across The Flats, down to The Spitchaw Valley ending up throwing rocks to check out the ice thickness on The Spitoon.
After the walk I felt so good that I jumped on my bicycle and had a short, but invigorating ride, dodging puddles and the few remaining snowbanks. A great afternoon.
Last evening I felt the ache in my head, and the million pinpricks on my skin that I last felt when I had a bad flu six years ago.
I tossed, turned and shivered all night, fought the headache. Rested not at all.

This morning I took my temperature. 99.5 F. Low grade. Not much to worry about.
But I do worry. I rarely have a fever, in fact my normal temperature is usually a degree lower than 98.6.

It's easier to self isolate when your nearest neighbor is half a mile away. Soon the temperatures will warm and Mother Nature will lose her drab winter shroud. The geese and the cranes will give us something to look at besides re-runs, which will make being home easier to take. I also know that the wine I am not drinking now will be waiting for me when I feel better. When the deck is open for the summer season.

Please look after yourselves, and your loved ones.

NS has just declared state of emergency. Now illegal to be in groups more than 5. Can be charged 1000 per offence.

Stay safe.

Update

I am 40 hours without fever or drugs, unless you count caffeine and the two glasses of cheap red I allowed myself last night. (Medicinal reasons only.)
I still feel like I have been beat with a big exhaustion stick but am hoping that a few more days rest and some dammed sunshine will set things right.

Do I have Covid-19? Maybe, but probably not. Two points I will make though.
1 - If it is I will probably recover having had only mild symptoms, like most people, and because there is no use wasting a test on me I will never know for sure.
And more importantly,
2 - I will treat this setback like I do have the virus. Isolation. Hand washing. Healthy food and moderate drink.
You need to do the same, especially if you have any symptoms.

A big thank you to medical workers but also to police, fire, civic workers and all out there who are keeping this country alive. Also thanks to the people working at grocery stores. People who are looked down on everyday, who have the greedy jerks whining about "my costs" every time minimum wage goes up a nickle, THESE ARE THE PEOPLE KEEPING YOU FED!
One other thing.

If you are one of those idiots who hoarded hand sanitizer and N-95's stop being such an *******. Take what you will USE and donate the rest to your medical center. Quit being such a greedy, worthless piece of trash.

That's all except please look after yourselves, your people and your animals and pets.
