Also we have increased the prize payout to $50,000.00

The Bear and his cubs

Pretty hefty line-up slated for the White's Drug Store Classic, Nov 9-12. Manitoba Championships Berth and $50,000... well, yah, that would draw in some big guns.

Follow along here: http://whitescurlingclassic.blogspot.ca/

The Bear, The Money Hunter, and The Bronze Medlaist

martin mcewan and fowler

to name a few. Overseas entries. Saskatchewan toughies. Whites' Regulars. Still room for a few more teams at the 2012 Whites' Drugstore Classic (Nov 9-12 in Swan River MB). With the MB Safeway Championships Berth this will fill with heavy weights.

WCT event... oly points at stake.

Stoughton team is making the trek to The Valley for the Whites'. Interestinger and Interestinger. Still a few openings. That berth must have as much alure as the fifty thousand bux.

We have a waiting list. We have no teams from Asia, which seems odd considering their steady presence at events so far this year, but the breakdown is interesting.

1 - BC (Cotter (with the gunner)
1 - AB (Martin)
1 - USA (Shuster)
2 - Euro (The Swiss: deCruz and Michel)
5 - SK including Manners, defending SK Champ. Rivalries.
14 - MB including McEwan Fowler Stoughton Peters Jr Lyburn Grassie... two local teams. one from further north.

Curlers return to The White's because of the superior and consistent ice. And also because of the money. $50,000. This year the MB Championships Berth has drawn some in the hunt. Biased profiles on the teams can be seen at the event website. http://whitescurlingclassic.blogspot.ca/

Heidt Jr, ie Josh, is now IN. Heading up to The Valley from Kerrobert. Six SK teams now.

Waiting list. Nov 9-11. http://whitescurlingclassic.blogspot.ca/

Drop out - one more chance.

Ah... the berth is the draw. But, the critical mass of the world's best curlers not to mention the $51,000 in prize money should be enough to fill in the gap.

We lost one team with a week to go and think there is a strong chance we can attract another dynamo because of the amazing line-up we already have. (Martin - Stoughton - McEwan - Fowler - Michel - Laycock - Cotter - Lyburn etc..)

Maybe one of the Asian teams that is already in North America will decide to step up.

Check up the line-up at The White's Blog: http://whitescurlingclassic.blogspot.ca/

Contact Gord 204-734-8767 or ghardy2@hotmail.com to book the final spot.

See you in Swan!

Just saw that Claudio Pescia is throwing 4th for Jason Jacobson's team this weekend at the Whites. Lots of Swiss curlers.

Will post here as soon as we have word on streaming.

Wonder who is filling in the blanks on this Wiki output. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_W...g_Store_Classic
Is that normal? Looks Awesome, but of course we can follow here at CZ and WCTsite too.

Media

It is easy enough to get line scores from WCT but if any media outlets want draw sheets emailed at the end of the draw, contact the draw room and we'll add you to the list.

C-Side Streaming

Josh Heidt playing Sven Michel - steaming.
Link: http://whitescurlingclassic.blogspot.ca/
Just a static screen to augment your linescores.

Manitoba Berth Contenders :
McNamee has qualified so is in contention for the Safeway Championship Berth available thru the Whites this year.
Daley Peters and Scott Madams are still alive on the C-Side, and have to win twice to qualify and put themselves in contention for the berth.

Fowler missed. lol

Mess of yellow. Stoughton tapped his own yellow to make it harder for Rob but actually tapped it into the open. Fowler had a light weight open hit to get one, or possible give only one, but over threw it. It ran straight. He rolled away and that was that.

and then Stoughton stole another 3? Fowler was up 3-0 after 1, and over the next 5 ends lost 10-4. Ouch! Don't think I've ever seen that before.

Yah. Big handshake. Stoughton prevailed having to draw to the pot to defeat Daley Peters and has qualified. He is up against McEwen in the QF now.

Streaming Heidt vs McNamee right now. McNamee earned the floating berth to the MB Safeway Championships (Provincials) as the highest qualifier who was seeking a berth.

Streaming link is on this page: http://whitescurlingclassic.blogspot.ca/

and... McEwen just put Stoughton down in a 3 end slaughter in the QF. Stoughton didn't have a good 'spiel. Nice to see Nichols here though. Including Shuster - 6 Oly medalists in the rink for the Whites.
