The 2nd annual CookstownCash presented by COMCO Canada Inc. is proud to introduce a women’s section to the event.

12 women’s teams will compete for $6000 in prize money. This is in addition to the already growing men’s side that will be held this November in Cookstown, Ontario.

“This is the next logical step for our event. To add a women’s side means quite a bit to the area and also to the club.” Says co-chairman Dale Matchett. “We wanted to add to the spiel after such a successful inaugural event last year.”

In order to host the event, the committee needed to secure ice from the Bradford Curling Club to run the now 4-day cashspiel. “We are really excited about this year’s spiel. We’ve never had a curling event of this size in the Cookstown area. We’re hoping that with a 12 team women’s event this year, we will be able to build on it in the future and eventually the thought is that we can host an even larger scale event next season.” Matchett adds.
